WASHINGTON, DC—Today, Speaker John Boehner announced that he has invited Pope Francis to speak before a joint session of Congress. Following the speaker’s announcement, First District Representative Paul Ryan issued the statement below:

Pope Francis has spoken out in behalf of the less fortunate and has challenged all of us to lead lives of service.
